The State of Michigan, Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, has issued a requirement for all healthcare providers in Michigan to attend continuing education courses addressing the topic of "Implicit Biases." This course fulfills the state licensure requirement.


Course Agenda:
Hour 1:

Participants will be introduced to the concept of implicit biases by demonstrating their power in daily life, and in dentistry-related situations. It explores how they can change over time, and in which circumstances participants are more likely to use implicit biases.


Hour 2:

Analyzes how implicit biases matter. Discussion of concrete examples and research results that show how implicit biases matter in general and in dentistry-related settings.


Hour 3:
Discusses ways in which implicit biases can be recognized and changed.


Course Objectives:
At the end of this live webinar, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand how its existence can be demonstrated
  • Identify how implicit biases matter in personal and dentistry-related settings
